Heritage Lottery Fund The Heritage Lottery Fund is the UK’s leading funder of our diverse heritage and the only heritage organisation that operates both across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and funds the entire spread of heritage – including buildings, museums, natural heritage and the heritage of cultural traditions and language. It provides an array of grants to; conserve the UK's diverse heritage for present and future generations to experience and enjoy; help more people, and a wider range of people, to take an active part in and make decisions about their heritage; help people to learn about their own and other people's heritage. Recycling Grants for Community Groups A £7.5m fund to support local recycling projects is available to community groups. Speaking at the Community Recycling Network Service annual conference in Perth, cabinet secretary for environment and rural affairs Richard lochead also announced that the new Zero Waste Think Tank will meet for the first time later this month. UnLtd Sport Relief Awards UnLtd, the charity which supports social entrepreneurs provides grants of between £250 and £5,000 to young people to bring community cohesion and understanding through sport and being active. Funding is open to 11-21 year olds. Examples of types of projects whihc may be supported include, engaging young people from different backgrounds by organising and indoor cricket mini-world cup or skateboarding competitions for kids that will reduce tensions in the local area. Tubney Charitable Trust The Tubney Charitable Trust provides grants to charitable organisations for projects that conserve the natural environment in the UK and grants for the welfare of farmed animals both in the UK and internationally. The current grant making round will close on June 2nd and following this Trustees will allocate most of the Trust's remaining uncommitted funds to a small number of large, focused grants and from June 3rd the Trust will be awarding grants to invited applicants only. Voluntary Action Fund This is one of Scotland's most established independent funders and runs the Volunteering Scotland Grant Scheme. The VSGS provides up to three years funding for voluntary projects involving harder-to-reach volunteers, and also provides small grants fo up to £5,000. Awards for All Awards for All is a lottery grants scheme for local communities. It will fund projects that benefit people in need in the community aimed at bringing people together, increasing involvement, improving quality of life or helping groups to become well organised.A range of organisations may apply, such as a not for profit groups, a health body, a school or a statutory body. People's Millions The Big Lottery Fund Scotland is calling for community groups to enter this year's People's Millions programmes. Previous winners have used awards on projects from transforming local areas into community woldlife havens to creating sensory play areas for children with special needs. CSV Dare to Care CSV's Dare to Care campaign has grants of up to £50-£250 to give to youth, community groups and schools that want to take a stand against child poverty. Activities benefiting so far are homework clubs, football festivals, financial inclusion workshops and free swimming lessons. Playground Partnerships 2008 Schools within the UK that wish to improve their play spaces have the opportunity to apply for funding through the Playground Partnerships Initiative 2008. Schools can apply for awards of £1,000, £2,000, £5,000 or £10,000. All schools shortlisted will receive at least £250. Applicants are encouraged to develop a pupil-led approach; involve the whole school; encourage input from the wider school community and include pupils with special educational needs. Clore Duffield Performing Arts Award Organisations such as registered charities, youth groups and schoolsthat wish to undertake activities that enable young people aged 0-18 to experience the performing arts are eligible to apply for funding under the Clore Duffield Performing Arts Awards (formally known as the Clore Duffield Small Grants for performing Arts Eductaion Programme). Eligible organisations can apply for funding of between £1,000 and £10,000 for educational projects with under 18's that cover every aspect of the performing arts including opera, dance, music, musical theatre, the spoken word and theatre. Greenprints Funding, provided throught the GreenPrints programme, of up to £10,000, as well as support and practical expertise, is available to enable young people to make a real difference to their communities. It is open to not for profit organisations for projects designed and delivered by groups of volunteers aged 16 to 25. There are several application deadlines throughout the year. Investing in Communities Investing in Communities is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. It includes four areas of investment; 1) Growing Community Assets, this can fund projects to purchase, improve or develop assets, pay for technical assitance such as project design and planning, rick assessment and surveys or to employ development staff and help groups get skills they need to develop or manage an asset; 2) Life Transitions, this can fund projects such as mentoring, befriending and peer support, advice, advocacy and tailored support to help people access services, skills development, supported employment projects etc.; 3) Dynamic, Inclusive Communities, this can fund projects which focus on promoting access to information, helping existing and new voluntary and community organisations to develop, fostering civic engagement etc.; 4) Supporting 21st Century Life, this can fund projects which use technology to overcome social isolationand exclusion, anticipate, prepare or plan for future change, bring people together, encourage befriending, mentoring volunteering or support parenting. Investing in Ideas Investing in Ideas is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. It can pay for market research, feasibility studies, business planning, training for your committee, exchange visits in the U.K. to see how other projects work, community consultation, professional advice, technical reports and scheme design studies or surveys etc. Investing in Ideas is not a source of funding for projects, the project will come about after the idea has been tested out or developed. Green Grants from CSV's Action Earth Campiagn The CSV has two differnet grants to provide money to carry out practical environmental prijects across Scotland. SNH Biodiversity Awards of £250 are available to groups creating or improving habitats for wildlife. Projects could include planting, crreating or renovating existing sited and making nesting boxes. CSV Action Earth Grants of £50, supported by Morrison's, are available to projects planting bulbs, craeting foothpaths, recycling and litter picking. Community Food and Health - Small Grant Scheme 2008 Groups or agencies working with low-income groups in Scotland are welcome to apply for between £500 and £3,000 to tackle one or more of the barriers to healthy eating that many people face on low-income experience. European Structural Funds Programme These fund are currently being distributed through Commuinty Planning Partnerships. Funding will be awarded to a selection of CPP's in implementing social inclusion/regeneration action plans, supporting projects which complement the role of the CPPs in delivering social inclusion and regeneration goals at local level. Funding will focus on on projects which integrate European Social Fund and and European Regional Development Fund eligible activities to deliver sustainable outcomes for targeted communities and residents.
