Commenting on Frank
McAveety's remarks at the Public Petitions Committee today which were
caught on camera, regarding a female member of the public attending the
hearing, Glasgow SNP MSP Sandra White said: "I am shocked and disgusted
at these remarks. The fact that they were uttered by Mr McAveety as the
convener of a parliamentary committee which had been considering
extremely important and sensitive issues makes it even more sickening.
"His stupid comments were at best sexist and
sleazy - and at worst sexist, sleazy and racist.
"Mr McAveety does not speak for Scotland's Parliament, and he does
not speak for Glasgow. He must consider his position in Parliament."
